How do I install home charging equipment?
There are four steps to installing home charging equipment:
1. Find an Electrician
Enter your zip code in the Tesla Find an Electrician tool to locate installers in your area.
If you already have an electrician you would like to work with, please direct them to the latest Wall Connector installation guide for a seamless experience.
2. Request a Quote
We recommend installing the Wall Connector on a 60 amp circuit in the parking space closest to your existing electrical infrastructure. Many electricians now offer quotes online and by email, making it easy to obtain multiple quotes.
3. Order Your Wall Connector
Once you have a quote from an electrician, order your Wall Connector online.
4. Schedule Your Installation
Forward the Wall Connector Order Shipment Confirmation email to your electrician and schedule your installation date directly.

How do I get electric vehicle charging installed at my apartment or condo?
Increasingly, condos and apartment buildings are required by law to allow EV charging. Installing charging makes business sense, and the case will only get stronger as more people buy electric vehicles.
Additionally, incentives may be available to you or your building property manager to alleviate cost, at the federal, state, county, municipal and utility levels. Check https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/electricity.html for more information.
We offer the following templates to help get these conversations started with your building manager or HOA:

What is the Austin Energy Rebate?
The rebate is for Austin Energy customers putting in a Level 2 car charger. Austin Energy will reimburse you for 50% of your Level 2 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment up to $1,200 for a Wi-Fi enabled charging station or $900 for a non-Wi-Fi enabled charging station. Find out more here. Apply for your rebate here.
What is the EV360 Program?
The EV360 program was created by Austin Energy to allow electric car owners peace of mind by charging one rate per month to charge the vehicle. If you’re charging at 50 amps or below the program costs $30 per month, not including initial fees to be part of the program and installation costs. If you’re charging your vehicle at 60 amps or more the program runs $50 per month.
What’s the added cost of the EV360 Program?
Of course, there are fees from Austin Energy to sign up for the program and an installation fee from the electrician installing the meter for the EV360 program.
Can I include the cost of materials for the EV360 installation in the Austin Energy Rebate?
You can, if you include the cost in the rebate information when you apply. If you’ve already applied for the rebate and then decide to have the EV360 meter installed Austin Energy will not allow you to fill out the rebate form again to recoup costs for the EV360 installation.
Can the EV360 meter be turned on at the time of the installation?
Definitely, Austin Energy provides a jumper plate that can be put in the meter during installation to allow you to start using the EV360 meter as soon as it’s hooked up. Then Austin Energy will swing by and place the permanent meter into the enclosure, usually within a few days.
